SHARED Equity Partners

To help lower affordability barriers for villagers, we are creating a shared equity scheme. In a nutshell, shared equity works by enabling a villager - who may not otherwise be able to - to purchase their home with the support of an aligned investor(s). The villager secures finance for the portion of the home that they can afford (typically, from 50% upwards), and the shared equity investor provides the rest.

That home is initially co-owned, with the villager able to buy out the shared equity investor over time (a process called “staircasing”) and eventually own their home outright.
